About

A SW London studio, a line at a time

Outlined by Earnshaw is the studio of an illustrator drawing the places, people and milestones that hold meaning — from local pubs to bespoke commissions.

A little about me

Hi, I'm the artist behind Outlined by Earnshaw. I draw entirely by hand from a small SW London studio, with a fine-liner habit and a soft spot for old pub frontages, wonky chimneys and the corners of streets you walk past every day.

My work sits between fine art and storytelling — landmark prints, greetings cards and bespoke commissions that try to hold on to the texture of a place or a moment, rather than smooth it out.

Most pieces start outside, sketchbook in hand. The studio is where the inking, detail and quiet hours happen — usually with a strong coffee and something instrumental on in the background.

When I'm not drawing, I'm probably sketching outside a pub. (Research.)

Values that shape the work

Drawn by hand

Every line is inked by hand in the studio. No filters, no AI, no shortcuts — the wobble is the point.

Sense of place

Whether it's a pub on a corner or a family home, the work tries to hold on to what makes a place feel like itself.

Considered & calm

Small studio, small queue. Each commission gets proper thinking time, not a production line.

Made to keep

Archival inks, heavyweight paper, careful packaging. Pieces that look good now and in twenty years.

A short history

How the studio grew

  1. Origins

Started drawing local pubs and SW London streetscapes for friends and family.

  2. Cards & prints

The greeting-card and print range grew from requests after each commission.

  3. Commissions

Bespoke pieces became the heart of the studio — homes, weddings, layered storytelling.

  4. Today

Working with independents, venues and editorial clients alongside private commissions.
